the girl behind the lens
I don't think they realise, but my love for photography very much came from my family! My Grandma bought me my first ‘point and shoot’ camera when I was quite young and my dad had an old SLR camera, that he had inherited from his uncle, which we would always take on holiday with us. It fascinated me, watching him fiddle with the settings and changing the lenses. Sadly, in 2007, my Grandma passed away; she wasn't a rich lady, but with the money she left me I decided I wanted to buy something that would enhance my life and would remind me of her every time I used it; I bought myself a digital SLR camera. The intrigue I had as a child was reborn; friends and family alike could see that my passion for photography had been renewed! Having spent 4 years taking photos for fun, I took my passion for photography from just being a hobby and made it into my full-time vocation!
Although hearing how much my clients love my work, seeing my pictures in print, as part of an online campaign or spread across social media, is brilliant, the thing that continues to motivate me is my love for photography! My business was set up because of a raw passion for taking photographs, because of the way I love telling a story through pictures and I hope that will always be the main reason for doing what I do.
